Guest post on Create Mixed Media

Yay! I have another guest post on the wonderful site Create Mixed Media. Ricë Freeman Zachery asked me to write about my experiences with being what she calls 'bilingual'. Why does a Dutch woman blog in English and what does it mean for my art? I discuss my personal English language history in this post.

Hope you enjoy it!

Wishing you all a wonderful and artsy Wednesday!

    1. Dank je wel Marit. Toen ze het me vroeg wist ik eerst niet of ik er wel iets over te vertellen had, maar dat viel toch nog mee, haha.

  4. What a fascinating story!! I became bi-lingual when I lived abroad for a year with my family. The funny thing was, I spoke French with a Parisian accent, although I was surrounded by Belgians!!

    1. LOL! It's the same way with American English over here. It's cause that's what we hear most on the media. I think very few Dutch people who speak English will do so with a beautiful British accent.

  5. Congratulations on your guest post. I really liked reading about how you switch from one language or accent to the other without even thinking about it. It's very interesting. I have to say I subscribe to your blog by email and Inknow I don't leave you comments often, but I love your blog and look forward to receiving your posts!

I appreciate each and every comment. They make me really happy. I don't like spammers though and that's why the word verification is turned on. I know it's a pain, but I hope you understand.

I try to respond to all comments by directly replying in the comment section, but please understand that sometimes this may take some time. Know that I read them all and that they make my day.
