A photographic impression of Texel - part two of three

From March 20 to 27 I stayed on the island of Texel.

I spent my days basically walking and photographing my heart out.
This is a slideshow in three parts of some of the beautiful and interesting things Texel has to offer.

Enjoy!

  1. What. Are those stilt like wooden structures running down to the water?

    1. I don't think there's an islander on Texel or my own island Vlieland who doesn't know what these are for, Boud. It makes me feel like I have insider knowledge, haha. Every summer season there's a direct boat connection between Vlieland and Texel with a boat called De Vriendschap (The Friendship). These poles are then outfited with planks to form a walkway on and off said boat. There's a set of similar posts on the west side of my island. I always feel that without the planks they look like an art installation on the beach and I love photographing them.

  2. Oh my goodness me. What an absolutely joyous and beautiful post. You have such a unique 'eye', and an amazing skill for capturing all things unique, beautiful, and quirky, often a combination of all three.
