From the White Book

Time for some more spreads from my (almost) daily journal The White Book. Enjoy!

I'm still enjoying this book tremendously. Lately I have been experimenting with patterned paper as part of the background or just cutting shapes from paper and including those. The White Book seems to be turning into a book of trying new things and combining them with  my old ways of doing them. Sometimes this works great, sometimes it's so so, but always I love the process and that's what matters in the end.

Wishing you all a wonderful and artsy Wednesday!

  1. I love everything you do but these pages are probably my most favorite. I say "probably" because, as I said, I love everything you do. I love the bits of patterned paper and the floral tapes. These pages seem to be more delicate, too. Love them!!!

  3. Hi caatje. As always, I love your journal pages. I'm curious though, do you use your photos and words as prompts for your journaling or do you use your journaling as the prompt for what photos and words you will use? Linda E.

    1. Well, the answer is: neither! In general I don't do the prompt thing, but in my journal I just write whatever is in my head at the time. The imagery therefore has nothing to do with the text. The writing is done at a different time than the decorating as well. I will of course sometimes clarify a photograph or something, but usually the only thing the text and the images have in common are the spread they are on. :-)

    1. Hey Mary, this is a store bought book. It's a Seawhite of Brighton Sketchbook that measures 10x10 inches.
