What are you up to Wednesday - part 42 (woyww 145)

Another Wednesday is upon is. There's not much going on atop my studio table, mostly because I've hardly been home in the past few days. So today we move downstairs to the journaling station, because the journal always continues no matter how busy I am. Journaling is like brushing and flossing, it has to be done on a regular basis, a very regular basis, or I feel yucky. I need it like a plant needs water, maybe even like a human needs water (every day).

As I told you in my previous post, I have started working in my altered atlas. Last night I prepared two spreads for writing. The above one is my current favorite, but that doesn't mean much as it's only the second spread in the entire book and I still have months to go before it's filled up. Here's the other spread I did last night.

I like working on the decorating of my spreads in the evening, because I just don't have time for it in the morning, especially when it's such a big book as this one is. But the writing is usually a morning thing. It's simply the best time of the day as it helps me to focus my thoughts a little when I'm still feeling dazed from a night's sleep and have to get up way to early to go to work. ;-)

Of course there is always the issue of my eager personal assistant who takes on way too much responsibility and always feels the need to stay on top of things:

I keep telling him it's really not necessary for our working relationship to be so intense, but he totally ignores me. Maybe he thinks I work for him? ;-)

Hope you are all having a wonderful Wednesday and if you feel like checking out other desks, go to the woyww hostess Julia en have a ball!

  1. Oh what a nice idea of an 'Altered Atlas'! I must read back your previous post to find out what it's all about. I'm playing some serious catch up today!

Love the colour of that spread too!

My 'personal assistant' stays out of my way, he spends most of the time curled up on an old fleecey shirt on the bottom of my bed!!

    Thanks for sharing,

    Happy WOYWW

  14. The altered pages are beautiful - I like the wistful women! I've never been one for journal writing - even as a teenager. The will was there but the writing just never happened!!
And I, like you, am simply a slave to the boss cats in my house :)

  16. Hi, I love map books and think altering one would be a great project. Love your pages so far. Your personal assistant looks intent on doing a good job and he is gorgeous, but I'm sure he knows that already :) The Boss here has a big day tomorrow - it's her adoption day so she will be treated to a dish of tuna in honour of the occasion. We adopted her 3 years ago so at a guess she is now 12/13 years old, old enough to deserve a lot of pampering :) By the way, I do like your blog header - it's great to get a glimpse of where you create too. Thanks for your earlier comment. Hope you have a wonderful week, perhaps you will be able to have one of your long hikes on your island (sounds so idyllic). Elizabeth x #11

  21. I so relate to your comments about needing to journal...for me it's just doing something creative - stitch, paper, fabric - doesn't matter as long as I do something every day. Love your hot pink spread and your beautiful assistant ;-)

  29. Interesting work, love the purple colours. I know what you mean about working early in the morning, unfortunately it seems I have to get up at 4am if I don't want the baby bugs to join me!
