Friday afternoon I came home from work and found this in my mailbox:
The sender was Dawn E. Nguyen. She was the winner of my Artsy Journal Giveaway a while back. I knew that she owned a stamp company and she had asked me if I stamped so I had a little hunch she might be sending something, but frankly I had forgotten all about it and nothing could have prepared me for this!
I couldn't wait to see what was inside.
As you can see she decorated the back of the envolope too. Inside was a package in tissue paper and a little baggy with stamps. I'm wondering if that little baggy fell out of the big package. Anyway. I had to see those stamps first:
How cool are those? I do use stamps in my art, but always the more decorative kind or alphabets. I never really use them as focal images, so these flowers and paisleys were just perfect for me. But it turns out they were just a start up for the motherload, haha.
I opened the package and the first thing I saw was a lovely note from Dawn.
Now let me say that I don't do giveaways in order to get free goodies from other people. I just love making stuff and since I don't really sell and can't use everything myself I love giving things away. And...if there's one thing I don't need it's more art supplies. ;-)
But I'm surprised over and over again by the generosity of my fellow blogsy people and I don't know any other way to show my appreciation than to just brag about it and show it to the world. So here's the motherload:
Can you say 'wow'? How cool is that? Another little baggy of cute stamps, some pretty stickersheets (my journal was all excited about that one), some gorgeous papers (the blue especially, it has a beautiful velvet texture to it) and my absolute favorite: an entire stamp sheet with a big alphabet on it. Ooh yummy!
It was a wonderful way to start the weekend. So this post is basically just a big thank you note to Dawn. Thank you, thank you, thank you! ;-)
Now for those of you who think that my not needing any more art supplies means they could sneak in and steal my new goodies....forget about it! My lovely assistant is defending them with his life. ;-)
And with this ends my little round of bragging! Wishing you all a wonderful and very artsy week!
