No no no, it's not fair! Vacations should never end! It's just wrong I tell you! Wrong wrong wrong!
But... they do end of course and so did mine. I've been back to work for three days already and I really miss my vacation rythm. So here's one last look at last week:
Started at this train station when going on main land day trips. |
Saw a big band of fog come rolling in over the ocean. |
Journaled some and then some more. |
Took the ferry several times. |
Loved the way these masts look against the blue sky. |
Received my first birthday gift (very early) |
Sat in a park enjoying sunshine and reflections. |
Saw a tree bend over to drink some water. |
Went to the Alaïa exhibit in Groningen. |
Went on many many many long walks. |
I also read a lot, wrote a lot, slept a lot, got a lot of sunshine (the weather was amazing), worked in my studio a couple of times, did some sketching and blogged about it (see my last two posts), went on a small shopping spree and let my cat out of the house for the first time since I took him in three months ago (it went very well). All in all I'd say it was a good week.
Adjusting back to the work rythm is always hard for me, especially since I'm not a morning person, but usually live like I am one (getting up at 6:30 in the morning). So when yesterday I was about to leave the office after being there for nine hours straight having an especially vexing day, I couldn't help make this little drawing on my desk calendar:
Don't worry, mostly my days aren't so bad. ;-) Today for instance was a lot better indeed. I'm slowly getting back into the flow of things and there's a nice three day Easter Weekend to look forward to. I'll get through my little after vacation blues soon enough and back to blogging artsy stuff!
Hope you're all having a good week and a very artsy Wednesday!
