Grid drawings

I am absolutely obsessed with grids this year. I use them in my Morning Book a lot, I use them for my pattern designs, I use them for mosaic type drawings, well...I just use them for everything.

One thing I love to do is to fill a full page of my Moleskine squared XL book with what I call a 'grid drawing', it's basically a symmetrical pattern drawing, almost like a tapestry. I draw them with dashed lines, using the grid as my guide to make shapes, and then colour them in with felt tip pens. They are very addictive!

They are also a lot of work, but that's okay, it keeps the gremlins in my head at bay when I need to relax my mind.

Here's two drawings I did recently:

In my morning book I am currently experimenting with similar type drawings in a sort of square mandala shape and it's turning out quite interesting. Will keep you posted on those!

Doing these drawings and also colouring them gives me so much pleasure that it makes me wonder if any of you would be interested if I put up a couple of non coloured drawings of these as a freebie (printable) on the blog so you can colour them in yourself? I'd be more than happy to scan a few before I colour them in and share them with you.
Let me know what you think.

Wishing you al a wonderful and artsy day!
